(Thanks, Paul Haddad!) • 3.1.1 Apr 21, 2017. BoozyAlpaca, Finally Organized! For the past too many years, I’ve been using whatever the native setup for podcasts was on my iPhone (most recently, the Podcasts app). I didn’t hate it but there were always things that I definitely didn’t like. My biggest frustration with Apple’s native app was the lack of personalization and organization. I’m not a consistent podcast listener. Instead, when I want something to listen to that isn’t music, I download a bunch of episodes that sound interesting and listen to them while traveling or cleaning or whatever otherwise monotonous or boring thing I’m doing. I love Overcast because it allows a much greater degree of customization, and now I have the podcasts that I am a fan of separated into appropriately labeled playlists (my politics ones in a politics folder, my news ones in a news folder, etc). The amount of peace this gives me is great, and it’s easy to create a new playlist called something like “July Road Trip” and then pick out the topics I feel like listening to from their respective playlists (ie politics, economics, news, or comedy), and download some episodes that sound good.
